What does a metadata management system actually cover?
It covers the catalogue itself: the fields that describe your assets, the rules that govern them, the vocabulary behind them, and the routes by which records enter and leave the system. We treat the catalogue as live infrastructure rather than a one-off dataset.
Can you work with the systems we already have in place?
Usually, yes. We assess your current catalogue, asset store and scheduling tools first, then design around them. Where a replacement is unavoidable we say so early, with the reasons set out in writing.
How is a project priced?
We scope the work in stages and quote each stage separately, so you can stop or pause between them. Fixed prices are given once discovery is complete and the record structures are understood.
Who owns the metadata and configuration once the work ends?
You do. The records, schemas, mapping rules and documentation are yours throughout. We hold nothing back that would prevent another supplier from maintaining the system.
Do you migrate records from legacy archives and spreadsheets?
Yes. Migration is a large part of what we do. We profile the source data, agree the target structure with you, then move records in controlled batches with counts and exception reports at each stage.
What do you need from us to begin?
A named contact who knows the catalogue, read access to a representative sample of records, and a short statement of what is failing today. From that we prepare a written assessment and a proposed plan.
